Kailua Animal Clinic Participates with Neuter Now!

We are continuing to participate with the Hawaiian Humane Society Neuter Now program. This certificate program offers low-cost spays and neuters for dogs and cats to help encourage all pet owners to afford this critical procedure. You may purchase these certificates from the humane society or at any satellite city hall. The certificate covers the cost of the pre-surgical exam, surgery and anesthesia. Additional costs apply for pre-anesthetic bloodwork, catheter placement and IV fluid support, pain medication, e-collars, and overnight hospitalization for females.

Prior to surgery, dogs must be current on Distemper-Adenovirus-Parvovirus vaccination, have received a Bordetella vaccination and negative fecal test within the past 6 months, and have had a negative heartworm test within the past year (unless the dog is under 1 year of age). Cats must be current on FVRCP vaccination and have had a negative fecal test for parasites within the past 6 months. Any health issues examined and/or treated for at the pre-surgical exam, or any vaccinations and lab tests necessary to meet the surgery requirements will be charged for at regular fees. All pets must be presented clean and free of external parasites; there is a charge to treat dirty or infested pets otherwise.

Pets over 3 years of age or over 45 pounds do not qualify for the certificate rates and their surgeries will be subject to additional cost (an estimate will be provided at the pre-surgical exam). Pregnant or in heat females and cryptorchid males do not qualify. Any additional care after 24 hours will be charged for accordingly.

Certificate must be presented at the time of pre-surgical exam for Neuter Now rates to apply. Not combinable with other discounts. Please ask about hospital policy regarding surgeries and surgery release forms available at the front desk. To schedule your pet's pre-surgical exam, call us at 263-8863.
